Open the song in your Library
Pick the version you're happy with. Tap the song's Remix menu and choose Language version. That song becomes the reference for everything the engine does next.

Paste the adapted lyrics
Write the new language as lyrics, not as a translation: same number of lines, similar syllables per line, rhymes that work in that language. The lyrics box starts pre-filled with the original so you can adapt line by line.

Set language, closeness and voice, then create
Choose the language, how close to stay to the original (the slider defaults to 75%), and the voice: this song's own voice or one you saved. Two credits, two takes, and the result is saved as a version under the original.
What stays the same, and what changes
The engine treats your original as the reference recording. In our measured tests the key, the tempo and the section structure of every version matched the original exactly, and the harmonic path stayed far closer to the original than to any other song. The vocal melody follows the original closely but is performed again for the new words, so a line with more syllables will bend where a singer would bend it.
Treat it as a re-recording by the same band, not as a copy with the vocal swapped. That is also why adapted lyrics beat literal translations: a line that scans in the new language sits on the melody; a line that doesn't gets rushed.
Writing the adaptation
A few habits that made the difference in our tests.
- Keep the section tags ([Verse], [Chorus], [Bridge]) and the line count of each section; the engine uses them to keep the structure.
- Match syllables per line roughly, not exactly. Two or three more is fine; double is not.
- Keep the hook in the same place and, if you can, keep one word of the original hook (a name, a place) so the versions feel like one song.
- Use the free lyrics generator to draft, then rewrite the lines that matter yourself. Native-speaker phrasing is the difference between a cover and a release.
For artists releasing in several markets
Every language version is its own song in your library, grouped under the original, with its own commercial licence certificate on Pro or Ultra. Release them as separate tracks with the same artist name, declare AI assistance where your distributor asks, and keep the certificates with the release files. Is this a translation tool?
No. You write (or adapt) the lyrics in the target language; Tunely sings them using your original song as the reference for melody, arrangement and feel. For a first draft, the free lyrics generator can adapt a text, and then you rewrite the lines that matter.
Which languages work?
Any language you can type. We've measured Mandarin and Spanish versions against their English master (same key, tempo and structure); the engine also sings Thai, Hindi, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, French, German, Arabic and many more. Name the language in the language field so the phrasing follows it.
Will it sound like the same song?
Same key, same tempo, same structure and arrangement character, and a vocal melody that follows the original closely. It is a re-performance for the new words, not a note-for-note copy; expect a close match rather than an identical one.
Does the voice stay the same?
By default the original song's own voice is the reference. If you saved a voice from a song (Save voice in the song menu), you can pick it so every language version shares the same vocal identity.
What does the closeness slider do?
It sets how strongly the original recording steers the result. Higher keeps the arrangement and melody closer; lower gives the engine more freedom with phrasing. In our tests 60% and 85% both kept key, tempo and structure; 75% is the default.
How much does a language version cost?
Two credits per generation, and each generation returns two takes. It's included in Pro and Ultra; the free plan can't create versions.
Can I use it on a song I made outside Tunely?
Language version works on songs in your Tunely library. Bring an outside song in through Remix Studio first (Add vocals over your instrumental, or Cover), then make versions from the result.
Do language versions get a commercial licence?
Yes. On Pro or Ultra every song in your library, including each version, carries the commercial licence and its own downloadable certificate with a unique code.
How are versions organised?
Each version is saved under the original in your library, with a label such as “Spanish” or “Mandarin”, so a master and its adaptations stay together. You can rename any version from its menu.
How long does it take?
Lyrics and a live preview appear about half a minute after you press Create, and the two finished takes land in two to four minutes, depending on the song's length.
Can I change one line without redoing the whole version?
Not yet. Edit the line in the lyrics box and create again with the same settings; because the original is the reference, the second take stays close to the first.
